Celebrate World Architecture Day — First Monday in October
Design a Better World is the International Union of Architects’ call to action for World Architecture Day 2016 (October 3, 2016). As the range of global challenges grows and intensifies, the role of architecture, planning and design are becoming ever more critical to ensuring a better future for all people. Architecture has an enormous power to cope with climate change, and to foster communities that are strong, safe, equitable, productive and affordable.
Architecture plays an essential role in alleviating human suffering, reducing planetary burdens, and enhancing the quality of life. Architecture Impacts Everyone, Everyday.
All of us interact with our built environment constantly but are we aware of its far-reaching effects? Understanding how architecture impacts our lives it critical to achieving the best solutions. With the launch of DiscoverArchitecture.ca Members of Provincial Parliament submitted their favourite buildings in their ridings. Together, we can commit to building a better future, community by community.
Happy World Architecture Day!
